Hours: Part-time, 20-30 hours per week

Who We’re Seeking: The ideal candidate must demonstrate openness, sensitivity, flexibility, and an ecumenical approach while working with patients and families dealing with life-threatening illness and death. Experience in collaborating with community clergy to support Hospice clients is essential. The candidate will serve on the Hospice Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) to offer pastoral consultation and support in developing patient and family care plans. Effective teamwork and collaboration within a fully integrated interdisciplinary team are also required.

Your Responsibilities: As a member of our dedicated team, you’ll:

  • Coordinate with the Hospice team for referrals, home/nursing home visits, and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and uphold Hospice philosophy and policies.
  • Address grief and loss issues, offer staff consultation, and provide bereavement follow-up services.
  • Promote quality care, customer satisfaction, and participate in Quality Improvement activities.
  • Enhance sensitivity to spiritual concerns in the community, contacting clergy for support.
  • Plan and conduct funerals or memorial services, and participate in Memorial Services, staff education, and patient conferences.
  • Develop and maintain a resource group of clergies for spiritual care.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited seminary or school of theology or appropriate certification in hospital or pastoral ministry
  • Work Experience Minimum one (1) year experience as an ordained pastor/rabbi or one (1) year of hospice experience.
  • Valid driver’s license
